KAREN DISMUKE, 56, of Little Rock crossed quietly into the garden of eternal peace with her sister and best friend, Hilda, at her side in the early morning hours of Friday, Sept. 14, 2012. She was a faithful member of St. Mark Baptist Church where she served on the Prison Ministry, and she had retired from the State after 28 years of dedicated service in DHS-Child Support Enforcement. Karen was very creative and from that was born her very own K.L. Originals decorations and crafts business. Left with cherished memories of her are one son, Christopher Dismuke Sr.; grandchildren, Kataria, KaSandra, and Christopher Dismuke Jr.; parents, Charles "Bo" and Dovie Dismuke of Benton, Cynthia Dismuke-Burkhalter (Kenneth), Hilda Dismuke-Canada (Gerald) of Bryant, and Minister Linda Diane Dismuke; nephews, Orlando Burkhalter and Jonathan Dismuke-Canada; nieces, Kennetha Burkhalter-Newman (Pierre), Amber Canada -Jones (Greg), and Brittney Canada; great-nephews and nieces, Brennan and Samiyyah Burkhalter, Jasmine Newman, Jawad Watkins, and Kenneth Tre'Mayne Burkhalter; uncle, J.D. Dismuke of Norfolk, Va.; aunt, Doris Brown; and dear friends, Beverly Wilson and Faye Salaam. Funeral arrangements are incomplete and have been entrusted to Walton GateWay Funeral Chapel, "Your Entrance to Eternity," 2405 South Gaines Street, Little Rock, Ark. 72206, (501) 376-7188.
