Sarah Louise Brown passed away in the Baptist Medical Center in Little Rock on September 14 after a valiant fight against breast cancer. She was born November 9, 1943 in Crawfordsville, Arkansas, to the late James Clovis Baxter and Maggie Loraine (Houston) Baxter. Sarah was better known as "Momma" to her children, "Nana" to her grandchildren and "Brownie" to many of her friends. She was loved by so many and touched the lives of everyone she met. Her love and energy were boundless. She had a large extended family of people that considered her a second mother, mentor and friend. She was an amazing cook, was blessed with a beautiful voice and her positive, selfless way of living was infectious. The joy of her life was spending time with her grandchildren and going to watch their football/basketball/baseball/softball/soccer games, dance and choir programs. Sarah was a strong faithful Christian woman who passed peacefully into God's arms with her children by her side. For many, this world will not be the same without her in it. She will be missed desperately by all that loved her. Sarah was preceded in death by her parents and her brother Ray Baxter of Olive Branch, Tennessee. She is survived by her husband, Donald L. Brown of Heber Springs, Arkansas and her three children, Wayne Brown and his wife, Angela of Greenbrier, Arkansas, Elizabeth (Beth) McDearmon and her husband Todd of Greenbrier, Arkansas and Brian Brown and his wife Crystal of Conway, Arkansas; two brothers, Houston Baxter of West Memphis, Tennessee and Doug Baxter of Collierville, Tennessee; three sisters, Sue Allensworth of West Memphis, Arkansas, Pat Kennedy of Savannah, Tennessee and Jackie Chaney of Crawfordsville, Arkansas as well as her 10 grandchildren, Jacob, Erica, Sean, Brianne, Dylan, Grant, Hunter, Halle, Jackson and Faith.
