Dorothy Pyle, a very dear and gracious lady, has now received peace. She passed away on September 18, 2012 following a courageous battle with cancer. Born to Floyd and Ollie Gray on November 16, 1925 in North Little Rock, one of 7 brothers and sisters. She was predeceased by husband Monty Pyle, leaving to cherish her memory sons, Alan Pierce (Verna), Ron Pyle (Patty) of Little Rock, and daughter Kim Pyle of Greensboro, North Carolina; grandchildren, Mary Ellen Pyle, Susan Williams, both of Little Rock and Theresa Joiner, of Charlotte, North Carolina; five great-grandchildren; brother, Truman Gray, of Little Rock; sister, best buddy Pat Eller, of North Little Rock and dearly loved nieces, nephews and friends. Dorothy and Mont shared adventurous spirits, enjoying traveling the back roads in Arkansas' hills, and house boating on the Arkansas River, where she loved spending quiet times on the houseboat as Mont "railroaded," or at home playing the piano and organ or reading....loyal member of Levy Baptist Church Choir and Arkansas Revival Center Choir. She was a member of Sherwood First Baptist Church, and a dedicated auxiliary volunteer for St. Vincent Hospital, having served 10,838 hours. She termed that "going to work," and served in many capacities. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Thursday at North Little Rock Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 10 a.m., Friday at the funeral home, 1921 Main St., 758-1170, with Pastor Ricky Lee officiating. Burial will be at Harmony Cemetery.
