Gary D. Cohen

Dr. Gary D. Cohen, age 61, of Hendersonville, passed away with Nancy, his wife of 36 years on Monday, September 17, 2012. He was preceded in death by his father, Jack Cohen. Survived by his children, Ben Cohen, Grace (Adam) Veenker, and Melissa Kate Cohen; grandchildren, Steven and Jonah Veenker; mother, Johnnie Cohen; sister, Cynthia Cohen. Dr. Cohen was a graduate of UT Memphis and St. Louis University. He was the founder and President of Smile Construction, Inc. A member of and Deacon at the First Baptist Church in Hendersonville, he also founded the Nashville Chapter of the Seattle Study Club. Dr. Cohen loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and flying, but mostly his grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Hendersonville First Baptist Church, Friday, September 21 from 4-8 p.m., and Saturday, September 22 from 10 a.m. until service time at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Cumberland Crisis Pregnancy Center, Hendersonville First Baptist Church, or Tennessee Baptist Children's Home.
