Marvin Spann Wilson, 88, of Marianna, Arkansas went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 18, 2012 at his home. Born October 1, 1923 in Luxora, Arkansas, he was the son of the late Marvin Knight Wilson and Gladys Cox. Marvin was a member of the Army Air Corp during WWII. He was a farmer and a member of First United Methodist Church of Marianna. He raised horses, enjoyed water skiing, square dancing, golfing, and gardening; and most of all, spending time with family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Katy Wilson. He is survived by his two children, Mary Dean Dozier and Spann Wilson; granddaughters Kylie Dozier and Ashley Wilson; and sister, Gladys Lee Kothe. Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Friday, September 21 at First United Methodist Church in Marianna, with Reverend Ike Mohr officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Methodist Church, to Hospice, or a charity of choice.
