Mr. Autrey "Aut" Horne, 87, of Gurdon passed away, Wednesday, September 19, 2012 at Twin Rivers Health and Rehab in Arkadelphia. Mr. Horne was born October 3, 1924 in Horatio, Arkansas to Cloetus A. Horne and Tennie Gore Horne. He is preceded in death by is parents and brother; Aubrey Horne. Mr. Horne was Owner and operator of Horne Funeral Home in Gurdon for 48 years, he was the President of Fidelity Standard Life Insurance Company, a U.S. Naval Veteran of World War II, a graduate of Landig Mortuary College in Houston, Texas, former member of the Gurdon Rotary Club, a recipient of Rotary's Paul Harris Award, a Mason and a Shriner (Scimitar Temple). He had served on Gurdon's Public School Board for 25 years of which he served as President of the school board most of those years, served on the Board of Directors for Clark County Bank and First State Bank for 45 years, a member of the Arkansas Funeral Directors Association and the National Funeral Directors Association. His hobbies included; hunting, fishing and all Arkansas Razorback Sports. Survivors include, his wife of 62 years, Bettye Jean Dickinson Horne of Gurdon, his daughter; Lisa Box and husband, Dr. Jim Box of Little Rock, his brother; Don Horne, wife, Lynda of Austin, Texas, two grandchildren; Tyler Box of Las Vegas, Nev. and Whitney Foster, husband Matt of Little Rock, nieces, nephews, other family member and friends. The Horne Family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, September 21, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church in Gurdon. Funeral service for Mr. Horne, 2 p.m., Saturday, September 22, 2012 at the First United Methodist Church in Gurdon. Burial to follow in Rose Hedge Cemetery in Gurdon. Rev. Greg Burke and Rev.
