JESSIE MAE MURPHY, 80, of North Little Rock, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Thursday, Sept. 20, 2012. She was born Feb. 17, 1932 in Scott, Ark. to the late Willie and Marie Mack. She served the St. Stephen Baptist Church of North Little Rock for 65 years as Church secretary, Sunday School attendant, Vacation Bible School worker, choir member, kitchen committee chair, program chair and Mother Board. She was a charter member and Past Worthy Matron of City Star No. 402 OES-PHA; member of Sylvia Harris Assembly No. 76, Order of Golden Circle -- PHA; and member of the Emily Brown Court No. 14 Heroines of Jencho-PHA. She served on the Governor's Advisory Council on Aging for a number of years. Jessie Mae is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Marthell Murphry Sr., and three children, Betty Faye, Clyde Wesley, and Baby Boy Murphy. She leaves to cherish her memory nine sons, Marthell Jr. (Doris) Murphy of North Little Rock, Ark., Albert Charles (Carol) Murphy of Little Rock, Ark., Edwin Gene, Marvin Dale, Willie Harold (Margie), Keeven DeRay, Glenn Daaryl, Fred III, and Byron Keith all of North Little Rock, Ark.; 24 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren; three special daughters, Patricia, Donna and Shirley Murphy; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, Sept. 26, 2012 at St. Stephen Baptist Church, 902 E Street, North Little Rock with burial to follow at Rest In Peace Cemetery in Hensley, Ark. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 25, 2012 at Paradise Baptist Church in North Little Rock. Services entrusted to Hubble Funeral Home, 1213 East Washington Avenue, North Little Rock, Ark., 374-3134.
