Lorene Dunlap Aslaender

On Friday, Sept. 21, 2012, Lorene Thompson Dunlap Aslaender, 87, of Vilonia, went to her Heavenly home to join her loved ones who had gone before her. Lorene was born Feb. 22, 1925 in Meridian, Miss. to the late George and Onie Chadwick Thompson. They moved to Phillips County where she grew up in and around Elaine. Prior to moving to Jacksonville in the seventies, she raised her family in the Marvell and Turner area and several years in California. She was a very outgoing person who loved life. She enjoyed gardening and flowers, cooking and dancing and never met a stranger. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters. Mrs. Aslaender is survived by four daughters, Sue Ann Tomayko of Little Rock, Pat and Ron Brown of Vilonia, Bobbie and Claxton Luther of Matson, Miss. and Kim and Ben Kittler of Griffithville and one son, Donnie and Pam Dunlap of Vilonia. Also surviving her are 15 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces and nephews to cherish her memory. Her grandsons, Leslie Shults, Gaylon Massagee, Jeffery Dunlap, Tress Shults and Jeffery Gibson will serve as honorary pallbearers. Active pallbearers will be James Gibson, Ron Brown, Ben Kittler, Stanley Russell, Anthony Skaggs and Terry Skaggs. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 23, 2012 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home (501)982-2136. A graveside service will be 2 p.m. Monday at Cypert Cemetery near Marvell.
