Arlos Oliver

Arlos Oliver, age 77, of Glenwood, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 24, 2012. He was born August 19, 1935, at Parks, the son of Floyd and Ethel Cantrell Oliver. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Alice Marie Bardwell and Joyce Taylor. Arlos was a retired veteran of the U.S. Naval Reserve, having served four years in the U.S. Navy. He is also a retiree of AP&L (Entergy), where he worked for over 25 years. He was a member of the Grace Baptist Church, and for more than 12 years he taught a Bible study class at the Fish Nest in Glenwood. Arlos will be remembered for his serving spirit and willingness to help others in every way. He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Betty Oliver of Glenwood; his son, Jonathan (Hollie) Oliver of Little Rock; two grandchildren, Grace and Jonathan David Oliver; and one sister, June Taylor of Bryant. Services will be at 10 a.m., Thursday, in Davis-Smith Funeral Home Chapel, Glenwood with Bro. Dale Hamilton and Bro. James Owens officiating. Visitation will be Wednesday, 6-8 p.m. Interment with military honors will be in the Glenwood Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Grace Baptist Church Building Fund, P.O.
