Charles Kenneth Smith of Batesville passed away at his home on Monday, September 24th. Born in Sulphur Rock on December 8, 1930, he was the son of George and Bertha Smith of Sulphur Rock. He was preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters. Charles was a graduate of Sulphur Rock High School in 1949 and served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War until 1955. He is survived by his wife, Norma Jean Smith of the home, one daughter, Vicky Crosby Crouch of Batesville, and two sons, Dr. Kenneth Smith of Russellville and Bob Smith of Longmont, Colo. He has three grandchildren, Mika Richardson of Southside, Craig Smith of Little Rock, Lauren Smith of Fort Smith, and two great-grandchildren, K'Leigh Richardson of Batesville of Laila Smith of Little Rock. Charles was employed in the construction business for nearly 50 years and a member of the North Heights Church of Christ. Pallbearers are Craig Smith, K'Leigh Richardson, Mika Richardson, Lauren Smith, Jared Richardson, Al Crouch, John David Morgan, and Ronnie Brooks. Honorary pallbearers are Bill Martin and Keith Davis. Visitation is from 1-3 p.m., Wednesday at Roller-Crouch Funeral Home in Batesville.
