Doris McMillan Barbee Hallum joined our Lord in heaven on September 24th, 2012. Hers was a life of giving and serving, especially through her church, Ironton Baptist. She was very addicted to her camera. Doris was born April 10, 1922 in Palestine to Cecil and Dollie McMillan. She was preceded in death by her husband, JW Hallum, her parents, her brother Conner McMillan; her sisters Mary Jane Spurgers and Mathalee Kirkland. She is survived by one sister Shirley Gentery; two sons Buck (Sue) Barbee and Allen (Donna) Barbee and one daughter Rovilla Barbee (C.E. Jr.) Bennett. She had seven grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren plus a host of nieces and nephews and extended family and friends, all who will miss her dearly. A service to celebrate her life and victory in Jesus will be held at Ironton Baptist Church at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, September 27th, with Brother Sidney Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Ironton Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, September 26 at Griffin Leggett Forest Hills Funeral Home, 10200 Hwy. 5 North, Alexander, Ark. 72002.
