Helen Fredene Moseley, age 92, died September 26, 2012, at Parkway Health Center in Little Rock. She was born October 16, 1919, in Searcy, Arkansas, to Helen Margaret Woodson and Guy Fred Moseley. The family soon moved to Forrest City where Fredene's brother Guy was born in 1921. Fredene attended Ouachita Baptist College and studied art, which became her passion and her vocation. Traveling to Florida each winter with her parents, she was able to continue her studies with various artists and perfect her own style. Fredene later became an art teacher and for many years enjoyed teaching in the studio behind her home. Her artistic talent also extended to the creation of beautiful porcelains. She was equally gifted as a musician and enjoyed music all her life. She was a devoted member of First Baptist Church of Forrest City and was active there in her younger years. Fredene cared for both her parents through long illnesses without complaint and following their deaths, she enjoyed several years of travel. In 2001 she moved to Little Rock to be near her family. She continued painting and drawing and also participated in the Arkansas Children's Hospital program to knit hats for preemie infants. As her health declined she moved to Parkway Health Center. She is survived by her brother , Guy Woodson Moseley and his wife Sara, and by two nieces and their families: Mary Ann and Jay Critz of Little Rock and Susie and Phil Farris of Batesville, Ar. Her great-nieces are Susan Critz Guthrie and Paul of Louisville, Ky.,Margaret Critz, Sara Farris, Catherine Critz Snyder and John, all of little Rock, Elizabeth Farris Bumpers and Fuller of Batesville, Lucy Farris Thompson and Paul of Little Rock, and Miranda Critz Greear and Fred of Williamsburg, Va. Great-great nieces and nephews are Eva Myrick and Anna Woodson Guthrie, Tasha Bryan, John McDonald and William Augustus Snyder, Susan Moseley, Elizabeth Grey, and Mary Farris Bumpers, Andrew McCord and Sara Katherine Thompson and Molly Catherine Greear. "Sissie" was a very loving and fun aunt. Summer vacations were packed with fun for her nieces and their friends. She so loved Forrest City and held it close to her heart until the day she died. Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. at Forrest Park Cemetery in Forrest City on Saturday, September 29, 2012. Visit online registry at stevensfuneralhome.net.
