EL WANDA LOUISE GARRITSON, 86, of Little Rock, went to be with the Lord on Friday, Sept. 28, 2012. She was born on March 30, 1926 in Delaware, Ark., the daughter of the late Charles Ray and Veni Nelly Gray Burns. She was a retired hair stylist, President of American Legion Auxiliary Post 1 Little Rock, was voted Miss Congeniality in a Senior Citizens' Contest, sponsor of her church girls' softball team, and a National Historian of EANGUS Auxiliary. She formed the first volunteer beauty shop for female veterans at Fort Roots Veterans' Hospital. She was a faithful member of Trinity Assembly of God Church. She and her husband were world travelers having visited six continents. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Kip Darcy Ward; daughter, Tanya Lay; and 14 siblings. She is survived by her loving husband of 21 years, James Harold Garritson of Little Rock; son, Michael L. Ward (Sharon) of Little Rock; daughters, Carla Cagle of Plano, Texas, and Renee Pifer (Buddy) of Little Rock; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three step-children; and a host of relatives and friends. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m., Monday, Oct. 1, 2012, at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home, 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, (501)224-8300. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m., Tuesday, Oct. 2, 2012, at Trinity Assembly of God, with Pastor Tony Jones officiating. Interment will follow at Arkansas State Veterans' Cemetery.
