Jean Rogers Najacht

JEAN ROGERS NAJACHT, 80, of Little Rock, Ark., was escorted by angels into the arms of Jesus on Sept. 28, 2012. She was born at home May 9, 1932 at Signal Mountain, Tenn., to John W. and Ruby Simons. She was a bookkeeper for Homer Rogers Excavating and Singer Sewing Company. She was a member of Journey Church in North Little Rock, Ark. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two husbands, Homer Alexander Rogers, (father to their children) Walter H. Najacht; brother, John E. Simons (Helen); and great-grandson, William Wyatt Averitt. Cherishing her memory are her mother, Billie Simons Mcgraw (Roy); Mildred Peterson of Hixson, Tenn.; Connie Menzie of Baton Rouge, La.; Ed Simons (Inez) of Chatt, Tenn.; Wesley Simons (Elva) of Elizabethon, Tenn.; three children, James A. Rogers (Erma) of Little Rock, Kay Rogers Smith (Colin) of North Little Rock and Linda Lou Averitt (Steve) of Sherwood; 11 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. Mother was the Queen of our hearts. She was tender and kind; passionate about her family. She loved her forever friend, Luella Beasley. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi sorority, where she was the president in 97/98; woman of the year in 1998. She loved life and hosted many events in her home with her friends. She enjoyed preparing special luncheons and dinners; always getting out all the china and crystal, making it special for her guests. Alzheimer's took her away from us. We need a cure and education for this disease, so we are asking you to make a donation to Arkansas Alzheimer Association in lieu of flowers. Alzheimer's is still a fatal disease. We will receive visitors at 10:30 a.m., then at 11 a.m. will be a celebration of her life, led by Pastor/Grandson, Alex Averitt on Monday, Oct. 1, 2012 at Journey Church, 4115 East 43rd, North Little Rock, Ark., off Richards road and East McCain.
