Joseph Reuben Clendening

Joseph Reuben Clendening was born November 24, 1947. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather and friend. Joey served as a Sergeant in the 82nd Airborne Infantry for the United States Army during the Vietnam War. He was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, "Aerie 60" for 12 years. His greatest passions were playing golf, pool and spending time with family and friends. Joey went home to be with the Lord on July 30, 2013. He is preceded in death by his father, Reuben Clendening; mother, Elizabeth Surrett Clendening and son, Joseph Rueben Clendening II. Joey is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Susan Clendening of Little Rock; his brother, Arthur "Brown" Clendening of Little Rock; sister, Gayle Clendening of Carlisle; daughters, Eva Lucas of Little Rock and Rhonda Clendening of Benton; sons, Andrew Clendening and Ashley of Alexander and Joseph Clendening III and Jennifer of Bryant and 14 loved and adored grandchildren; in addition to countless extended family and friends. Joey was loved by many and will be missed by all! A memorial service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, August 3, 2013 at Roller-Drummond Funeral Home, 10900 Interstate 30, Little Rock, Arkansas 72209, (501) 455-5800.
