Euell Franklin "Jabo" Edmonson, 83, of Bauxite, passed away at his home Friday, Aug. 2, 2013. He was born on June 21, 1930 in Bauxite to the late David Frank and Alice Henthorne Edmonson. Mr. Edmonson was a sign painter and wildlife artist and was one of the first 5 inducted into the Bauxite Sports Hall of Fame. He was a member of Sharon Missionary Baptist Church and the Bauxite Old Timers. Besides his parents he was also preceded in death by two brothers, D. F. and Bill Edmonson. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Bobbie Broadway Edmonson of Bauxite; daughter, Melissa Moix (Richard); two granddaughters, Megan Cassil (Steven) and Molly Moody (Blake), and a great-grandson who was the light of his life, Jamie Cassil. He was also survived by brothers, Leon of Benton, Bob and Thurman of Bauxite, Phillip of Bryant, Randy of Prattsville, Lynn of Traskwood, and David of Glen Rose; and sisters, Helen Ward of Keyser, W. Va., Ruby Ridgeway of North Little Rock, Verna Land of Kansas, Margie Ladd of Sheridan, Mickie White of El Dorado, Linda Hardin of Hot Springs, and Mary Abels of Bauxite. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, Aug. 5, 2013 at Sharon Missionary Baptist Church with Rev. Richard Hamilin and Rev. Kim Hammer officiating. Interment will follow in Bauxite Cemetery. Serving as pallbearers are Lucas Nalley, Doyle Nalley, Jason Smith, Ray Moix, Alex Kehress, and Justin Broadway. All of Mr. Edmonson's coffee drinking buddies are honorary pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday afternoon at Roller-Ballard Funeral Home (315-4047) in Benton.
