Donnie Reed Brooks

Donnie Sue "Pappy" Brooks, 79, of Conway passed away Saturday August 3, 2013. She was born July 12, 1934 in East End, Arkansas to the late Coy Reed and Winnie Lowry Reed. She was a former member of East End Baptist Church. She was a member of Oak Bowery Baptist Church. She was a member of the 1950 graduating class of Sheridan High School. She played Basketball, loved fishing, Cooking, eating and her pets. She could not read music but enjoyed playing the Piano by ear. She loved Orange Juice and likes real soda, especially Coke. She strongly disliked "low fat", "nonfat", low sugar, no sugar and artificial sweetener. She is survived by her husband, H.K. Brooks, daughter Lana McCormick of Conway and her grandson, Charley G. McCormick III (April) of Conway, nephews, Dickie Haynes of East End, Gene Haynes of Houston, Texas and Tony Reed of East End. She was preceded in death by her son, Randall Greg Brooks, sister, Lorene Haynes, brother Buddy Reed. Funeral services are 10 a.m. Wednesday in the chapel of Roller-McNutt Funeral Home in Conway with burial in Salem Cemetery in East End at 1 p.m. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
