Linda Sue Brune Strawn

On August 15th, 2013, Linda Sue Brune Strawn, of Little Rock, passed away after a 17 year battle with cancer; while being comforted by her husband at St. Vincent Hospital in Little Rock, Ark. Linda was 59 years old. She was born in Davenport, Iowa on March 3, 1954 and was the second daughter of Virginia Groves and Raymond Brune. Linda moved to Arkansas in her early teens and would later graduate from Sylvan Hills High School. She attended the University of Missouri-Columbia with a focus in journalism. She was always very interested in photograph and would make that a major part of her career. Linda worked at The Photo Shop selling photography equipment and worked as a freelance photographer on the side. This is where she would meet her husband, James Strawn. Dad would use the excuse that he needed more camera equipment to see mom. Mom and dad would date for several years before marrying on January 30, 1981. Linda gave birth to two daughters, Cassandra Strawn and Ginger Henson. She would eventually put her photography career on hold to focus all of her time and efforts on her family. Whatever project mom decided to do, she would commit 110%. She was a Girl Scout troop leader, a PTA president, an avid gardener, a movie fanatic, a frog enthusiast, an animal advocate and most importantly an obsessive grandmother to her three grandchildren; Cooper, Olivia and Addison. Mom was referred to as a point of light for several people and if you lived in her radius, you were impacted whether you knew her or not. Linda was survived by her husband, sister, two daughters, three grandchildren and an assortment of family and friends. There will be a memorial service on Thursday, 2 p.m., August 22, 2013, at St. Bartholomew Catholic Church in Little Rock, Arkansas to honor her life.
