James C. "Jimmy" Johnson, age 70, of Mountain Home, passed away Thursday, Aug. 15, 2013. Jimmy was born Jan. 29, 1943, in Farner, Tenn., to James O. and Ivogene Bryant Johnson. On Aug. 7, 1965, he married Jennie Haven in Forrest City, Ark. He was a member of Bar-None Cowboy Church. He practiced law in Mountain Home for 44 years. He began his law practice in 1969 joining Fred Engeler's Firm and retired in 2011 as a senior partner in the law firm of Johnson, Sanders and Morgan. He served as an assistant attorney general to the former State Attorney General Joe Purcell. Like his father, he was a lifelong cattle rancher with a strong Christian faith, whose life revolved around his family. Through all his trials and tribulations he remained a strong and faithful servant of God. He is survived by his wife, Jennie Johnson, of the home; two daughters, Jamie Rigdon and husband, Roy, Mountain Home; and Jeana Wiesner and husband, Troy, Bakersfield, Mo.; a sister, Barbara McKee and husband, Mike, Mountain Home; a granddaughter, Dally Jean Wiesner, Bakersfield, Mo.; a nephew, Scott Surber and wife, Jacque, Owasso, Okla.; and a niece, Courtney Pearson and husband, Brian, Joplin, Mo. He was preceded in death by his parents. Graveside Services were held 10 a.m. Tuesday in Newton Flat Cemetery in Bull Shoals with Pastor Tim Stephens officiating.
