Jack Marcus Taylor

JACK MARCUS TAYLOR, 72, of Jacksonville died peacefully Saturday, Aug. 24, 2013 at his beloved farm with his wife of 49 years, Betty, by his side. He was born July 26, 1941 in Little Rock to the late Aaron R. and O'Dean Hyatt Taylor. Mr. Taylor served in the United States Navy. He was a member of Marshall Road Baptist Church and of the Gideon International. Mr. Taylor was know as "The Barbeque Man" and enjoyed his coffee buddies at McDonalds and Jane's Kitchen. In addition to his parents, Mr. Taylor was preceded in death by two siblings, Gayle Bush and Bill Taylor. Mr. Taylor is survived by his wife, Betty Jessen Taylor of Jacksonville; two daughters, Becky Manes of Tahlequah, Oklahoma and Shannon Wilson of Bryant; one sister, Donna Corley of Jacksonville and five grandchildren; Aharon Manes, Elijah Manes, Joshua Smitherman, William Wilson and Taylor Wilson. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2013 in the chapel of Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home with Brothers Toby Tyler and Cliff Hutchins officiating. Burial will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. Monday. The family suggests memorials be made to the Gideon's Cabot Camp; P.O. Box 212; Cabot, Ark. 72023.
