James Earnest Trickey

James Earnest Trickey died Monday, August 26, 2013 at the age of 61, after a courageous battle with kidney cancer. He was born November 5, 1951 in Pine Bluff, AR to Earnest A. and Anna Booe Trickey. He was preceded in death by his father and his sister, Linda Trickey Wakefield. He is survived by his wife, Roxanne Dawson Trickey, his mother, Anna, of Little Rock, his sister, Annette (Joe) Fitzgerald of Branson, MO, his son, Chad (Heather) Trickey of Little Rock, step grandson, Braden Rudd, grandson, Owen James Trickey, nephew, Christopher Holden, and nieces, Rebecca Wakefield Watkins and Robin Grimmett. A resident of Little Rock since 1953, Jim was a proud graduate of Little Rock Central High School in 1970, where he excelled at track and field events. He had a long career in sales with several companies and, as a result, had friends all over the state. His ready smile, firm hand shake and great sense of humor were valuable assets in his career. Jim strongly believed in giving back to the community and volunteered with several organizations, including Civitan. For several years he was on the Senior Board of the Florence Crittenden Home and truly loved participating in the events they put on for the residents, especially playing Santa Claus at the Christmas party. He was a life-long Methodist and a member of St. James United Methodist where he met his wife, Roxanne. The family wishes to thank the physicians and staff at Baptist, UAMS and Hospice for the care they provided during his illness. And they especially want to thank Mark Penter who helped so much with Jim's home care. A celebration of Jim's life will be held at St. James United Methodist Church, 321 Pleasant Valley Drive at 10 a.m. Friday, August 30, 2013. Visitation will be an hour before the service.
