Lois Elaine Dickson, 89, of Stuttgart went to her heavenly home Monday, August 26, 2013, at Baptist Health-Stuttgart. Throughout her life, Mrs. "D" welcomed everyone into her home with open arms, a warm hug, and a plate of good Cajun cooking. She was born January 24, 1924, in Patterson, Louisiana, to Lawrence Joseph Walther and Maude Caroline Ford Walther. She was the retired office secretary for Dickson Chemical Company, a member of First United Methodist Church of Stuttgart, as well as the DAR, and Order of the Eastern Star, and a former member of the Stuttgart Garden Club. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, R.D. Dickson; a daughter, Priscilla Dickson; a grandson, Michael Dickson; and a sister, Betty Walther Guidry. Survivors are one son, Robert L. "Larry" Dickson and wife Cindy of Stuttgart; two daughters, Nancy Dickson Culp and husband David of Stuttgart and Mendy Dickson Traylor and husband Mike of Jacksonville; seven grandchildren, Larry Dickson Jr., Jennifer Dickson, Laura Dickson Lock, Amanda Dickson, Greg Culp, Lana Traylor Grigg and Zach Traylor; and three great-grandchildren, Cameron Dickson, Tyler Dickson, and Grayson Grigg. She was a loving mother to all that entered her home and will truly be missed. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church with burial following in Lone Tree Cemetery. Visitation is 5:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Turpin Funeral Home.
