Ellen Plunkett Akins Moseley of Benton, Arkansas passed away on Tuesday, August 27, 2013 at Saline County Memorial Hospital Hospice House. She was born Ellen Frances Plunkett on November 8, 1922, to Charles England and Ethyl Plunkett of Camden, Arkansas. She was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband, Dr. F Thomas "T" Moseley of Springfield, Missouri. She is survived by her adoring daughter, Suzanne Akins Hall and her brother, Charles E. Plunkett. She leaves behind to cherish her memory nieces and nephews Kathleen Andrews and husband Arlan, , John E. Plunkett and wife Tiffany, Mark B. Plunkett, Charles E. Davidson and wife Karen and Cecelia Crippen and husband Stan, and several great and great-great-nieces and nephews. She adored her cousins F.A. "Sonny" Gaston and wife Jo, Helen Kennedy and husband Ernest, and Carla Griffin. She is also survived by four step-children, F. Thomas "Tad" Moseley and wife Juliana, Melissa Shantz and husband Joe, Melinda Miller and husband Steve, and Mary Kelley and husband Kevin. She attended Camden schools graduating from Camden High School in 1940. She attended Hendrix College and the University of Arkansas where she pledged the Chi Omega sorority and earned her degree in social work. Her first employment was as a social worker for the Red Cross in Little Rock, Arkansas. She later married and moved back to her hometown of Camden. When her daughter approached school-age, she decided to return to school, earning her teaching degree from Southern State College. She taught the elementary grades for the Camden School System for many years sharing a mutual love and respect with her students. In her later years she worked part-time for the Camden and Ouachita County Library, and worked there until she was 80 years old and married Dr. Moseley, her childhood sweetheart, moving to his home in Springfield, Missouri. She took great pleasure in reading and discussing the books she read. She belonged to several book clubs during her lifetime. She was an enthusiastic bridge player, and had great fun playing with her friends. She loved her hometown, her church, St. John's Episcopal Church in Camden, and she loved and appreciated her family and friends. She was a sweet and loving mother. She was blessed with beauty, intelligence, charm, wit, and a loving spirit. She was always a lady. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, August 31, 2013 at St. John's Episcopal Church in Camden. Visitation will be from 10-11:30 a.m. Saturday at Proctor Funeral Home. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery.
