"T.M" Thomas M. Bays

"T.M." Thomas M. Bays, 87, formerly of El Dorado, died Friday, Nov. 28, after a brief illness. Mr. Bays is survived by his childhood sweetheart and loving wife of 67 years, Elizabeth (Betty) Watson Bays; three children and their families, Becky and Gary Glasgow, Bobby and Jo Lynn Bays, Jaynie and Tim Swager; grandchildren Clay Glasgow, Dana Glasgow Morgan, Jennifer Bays and Elizabeth Bays, Lauren, Rebecca, Erik, Emily, Amber, and Daniel Swager; and six great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Essie Honeycutt Bays; and a great-grandson, Jonathan Swager. He was a proud Navy veteran of World War II and a talented craftsman, having worked as a millwright for Monsanto Chemical Company and as a master plumber and a mechanic for the Crossett and El Dorado School Districts. He was a faithful member and deacon at North Crossett First Baptist Church. Visitation will be from 7–8:30 p.m. Sunday night at Medders Funeral Home, Crossett, and the funeral service will be Monday, Dec. 2, at 11 a.m. at North Crossett First Baptist Church. Burial is at Cross Roads Cemetery, Crossett.
