James Martin Reese

James Martin Reese, Jr., age 87, of Judsonia, died Wednesday, December 4, 2013 in Judsonia. He was born November 17, 1926 in Holcomb, Missouri to James Martin Reese Sr. and Liza Marie Price Reese. He was a member of New Bethel General Baptist Church and served as a Deacon, Sunday School teacher and song leader for over 60 years at the congregations he attended. He is survived by two daughters, Gloria "Jeanie" Small of House Springs, Missouri, Brenda Basinger and husband Danny of Bald Knob; six grandchildren, Bryana McGill and husband Steve, Michelle Knight and husband Phillip, Erica Holderle and husband Eric, Jonathan Basinger and wife Marian, David Small, Melissa Small; five great-grandchildren, Caleb Wills, Hope Holderle, Bobby Holderle, Josh Holderle, Hailey Holderle; four brothers, Kenneth Reese, Bill Reese and wife Mary, Ronnie Reese and wife Alline, Larry Reese and wife Sue; and two sisters, Gloretta Holloway and husband Carrol, and Emma Doris Jackson. He is preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Ruby Ellen Reese; parents, Martin and Marie Reese; seven brothers, Vernon Reese, Owen Reese, Denver Reese, Dub Reese, Donald Reese, Olen Reese, Earl Reese; and one sister, Thelma Reese. Visitation is Saturday at 11 a.m. at New Bethel General Baptist Church. Funeral services will be Saturday also, at 1 p.m. at New Bethel General Baptist Church. Interment will be at Shady Grove Cemetery. "Thank you Dad for being the rock of our family and teaching us about Jesus. We will miss you, 'til we meet again."
