Roland Winthrop John Copping

Roland Winthrop John Copping, "Rolly", 57 of Little Rock, Ark. went to be with the Lord on Nov. 28th, 2013. He was born on January 6th 1956 at six in the morning in Anaco, Venezuela and was the sixth child. Roland was preceded in death by his parents Lionel S. and Olga B. Copping and his brother Fredrick S. Copping. He is survived by his son Lionel W. J. Copping, brothers Dennis G. Copping, Thomas L. Copping, Robert A. Copping, and sisters Linda M. Moomey and Cynthia D. England. He is also survived by his many nieces, nephews, and friends. He graduated from Hall High in 1974 and joined the Navy, serving from 1975-1979. He served on the USS ORISKANY till it's inactivation in 76', his last command was in Mirarmar, San Diego. Roland was always having a good time wherever he went. You could hear him laughing and cutting up, never taking himself too seriously. He would lend a hand or offer all he had to anyone that needed it. Many of us benefited from his kindness. When friends gather to remember Roland, it is not long before we are smiling and laughing. He gave us so much joy and love, and he always had a lot to say. We remember his love of cooking, love of fixing and building, love of animals, love of family and friends. A memorial service celebrating the life of Roland will be held at the home of Thomas Copping in Little Rock this Sunday, December 15th, at 1 p.m. Please visit www.cremationsofarkansas.com to sign the online guest register.
