Emma Jean Durnal

Emma Jean Durnal, 85, of Sherwood went to be with Jesus on Monday, December 9, 2013. She was born in Cotton Plant, Ark. to the late Elbert Porter and Frances Roden Welch. She is preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Lloyd Durnal and Hollis Zane Barentine; two sons, David Wayne and Dennis Zane Barentine; and a daughter, Christina Barentine. Emma was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church and was a Sunday school teacher for many years. Emma was known to make a pot of Chicken and Dumplings for someone who was sick or a friend that lost a loved one, she was the first one there with a helping hand and a heart full of love and kind words. She retired as bookkeeper and cashier also owned and operated Jean's Pie Shop in Cabot. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by three daughters, Janie L. Hansen (Bob), Connie Taylor (Buddy) and Joy Stoneking (Steven). Graveside service will be 11 a.m., Friday, December 13, 2013 at Bayou Meto Cemetery in Jacksonville. The Family will receive friends from 6-8 p.m., Thursday, December 12, at Roller-Owens Funeral Home, 5509 John F. Kennedy Blvd. North Little Rock, Ark. 72116 (501-791-7400).
