Evelyn Marie Lancaster

Evelyn "Marie" Lancaster, 87, of Farmerville, La., formerly of Hollis, Ark., died Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at Arbor Lake Healthcare in Farmerville, La. She was born April 7, 1926, at Hollis, Ark. to Walter and Winnie Hooper Johnson. As a Homemaker, she was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed gardening, keeping house plants and cooking country food. She was of the Baptist faith. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband James "Frank" Lancaster; five brothers Melvin, Elton, Virgil, Elzy and Coy Johnson; two sisters Nova Baker and Cledie "Faye" Kelley and granddaughter Tina Fathere. Left to cherish her memory are a daughter, Marilyn Marie Shows and husband William of Marion, La.; son, Darrell Singleton and wife Libby of Frisco, Texas; brother, ODel Johnson and wife Madeline of Wichita, Kan.; three sisters, Emma Jane Whiley of Wichita, Kan., Gerata Stone of Wichita, Kan., Lois Abbott and husband Clarence of Wichita, Kan.; five grandchildren William Shows II of Smithville, Texas, Chris Shows and wife Cherie of Marion, La., Jason Shows and wife Jessica of Monroe, La., DJ Singleton and wife Lindsey of Frisco, Texas, Ryan Singleton and wife Susan of Frisco, Texas 13 great-grandchildren; nine great-great-grandchildren. The Funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, December 14, 2013 at Humphrey Chapel. Brother Jimmy Scott and Brother JD Hooper will officiate. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until service time at the chapel. Burial will be at Carter Cove Cemetery in Plainview, AR by Humphrey Funeral Service.
