Ed Howard, age 78, of Malvern passed away Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at St. Vincent's in Little Rock. He was born January 19, 1935, in Hope, the son of the late Johnie and Era Francis Howard. Ed retired from the United States Army and was a member of the First United Methodist Church and the Friendship Sunday School Class. Ed was the co-owner of Howard Real Estate for over 30 years. Ed was the past president of Malvern Chamber of Commerce, Malvern Country Club, Malvern Lions Club, Malvern Board of Realtors, served on the Board of Directors at Malvern National Bank and a member of the Industrial Development Corporation. Other than his parents, he is preceded in death by his brothers, Paul Howard, Charles Howard and Jerry Howard. Left to cherish his memory, wife, whom he married on June 27, 1958, Muriel York Howard; daughter, Sandra Bailey (Mike) of Malvern; grandchildren, Blake Bailey (Briah) of Malvern and Ryan "R.B." Bailey of Conway and great-granddaughter, Kennedy Bailey. Visitation will be Thursday, December 19, from 5-7 p.m. at Regency Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be Friday, December 20 at 10 a.m. at Regency Funeral Home with Reverend Lavon Post officiating. Burial will be at Shadowlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bob Rowe, Chris Williams, Bill Manning, Chris Walthall, Lew Waniewski, George McClure, Ron Parsley and Dennis Prince. Honorary Pallbearers will be the Officers and Directors of Malvern National Bank; Friendship class at First United Methodist Church, Dr. Larry Brashears and the Arkadelphia High School Class of 1954.
