Vivian Martin Warner

VIVIAN MARTIN WARNER passed away on December 6, 2013 at the age of 90 in Little Rock, Ark. Vivian was born Aug. 15, 1923 in Phillipsburg, Pa., to Charles Thomas and Emma Harkins Martin. She was a graduate of Pennsylvania State University with a B.S. degree in Physical Education and was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta Sorority. After graduation, she taught in the Williamsport, Pa. public school system. On Dec. 28, 1950 she married the love of her life, George Watkins Warner. George and Vivian lived in Rochester, N.Y. and Maryland before moving to Little Rock in 1970. They enjoyed their lives, raising their three children and eight grandchildren. When not in Little Rock, they were spending time fishing and watching deer at their cabin on the Little Red River in Heber Springs. Vivian was an avid gardener and a member of the Leawood Garden Club for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband of 48 years, George Watkins Warner III; her parents; her brother, Richard Thomas Martin; and a sister, Louise Martin Stoddard. She is survived by her sister, Marian Martin Morgan and husband, Robert of Sun Valley, Ariz.; her three beloved children, daughters, Diane Rowland and husband, Ron of Mandeville, La. and Carol Patrick and husband, Michael of Little Rock, and son, Dr. George Warner IV and wife, Melanie of Hilton Head Island, S.C. She was a loving grandmother to eight grandchildren, Cynthia Rowland Pragovich, Jeffery Rowland, Mary, Elizabeth, Ashley, and Rebecca Patrick, and Benjamin and Wesley Warner. The family would like to extend heartfelt appreciation to Dr. Claudia Tolleson, M.D. and the staff at Parkway Health Center for their many years of care and kindness. The Funeral Mass for both George and Vivian will be held on Friday, Dec. 27 at 11 a.m. at Christ the King Catholic Church, celebrated by Father John Antony. Following the Mass, they will be interred together with Military Honors at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery in North Little Rock, Ark.
