Geraldine Steed

Geraldine Steed, 89, of Gurdon, Ark. went to be with her Lord on Dec. 27, 2013 at the Arkansas Health Center in Benton, Ark. after a long illness. Geraldine was born in Gurdon, Ark. on Sept. 1, 1924 to Allen and Bertha Ingles Cross. Geraldine was a 1942 graduate of Gurdon High School and a long time faithful member of First Baptist Church of Gurdon before her illness necessitated her moving to a long term care facility. The loves of her life were her Lord, and her family. She was preceded in death by her mother; father; her husband, Fielden I. "Red" Steed; two sons, Dave and Ralph Steed; and a daughter, Tammy Steed. Left to cherish their many memories are her brothers, Bill (Pat) Cross and Buele "Pete" Cross of Camden, Ark.; two sons, Steve Steed of Memphis, Tenn. and Dennis (Semra) Steed of Las Vegas, Nev.; daughter in law, Sarah Steed of Hot Springs, Ark.; two granddaughters, Amy (Doug) Lewis of Los Alamos, N.M. and Ashley (Dale) Anderson of Benton, Ark.; a grandson, Matthew Steed of Las Vegas, Nev.; three great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation for Geraldine will be 1-2 p.m. Monday Dec. 30, 2013 in the Pharr Funeral Home Chapel in Gurdon, Ark. Funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. Dec. 30, 2013 in the Pharr Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Mark Crowley and Bro. Allan Eakin officiating. Interment will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery in Gurdon under the direction of Pharr Funeral Home of Gurdon.
