Jimmy Fitzgerald McClain

Jimmy Fitzgerald McClain of Cordova Tenn., 49, a beloved Brother, Minister, Teacher, and Coach went home to be with the Lord on February 20, 2013. He was born to Charles Henry and Jim Ella McClain in Lundell, Ark. Mr. McClain graduated from Elaine High School in Elaine, Ark. and went on to receive a BBA in Marketing from the University of Arkansas at Conway. He also held a MBA degree in Management from Strayer University. Basketball was one of his passions. Jimmy excelled as a member of his college Basketball team and played professional basketball for 7 1/2 years. He was the assistant Boys' Basketball Coach at Ridgeway High School in Memphis, Tenn. He was also a Business teacher at Ridgeway High where his students loved him dearly. Jimmy had a passion for writing. He completed work on his first book and movie script. He was the President of the board of directors of the Exdous foundation, a domestic violence prevention organization in Memphis, Tenn. He was also a contributing writer at the "Smart Cookies Don't Crumble", an internet website that teaches children to learn and grow; to celebrate themselves and each other. He was once asked, "What does success mean to you?" He said, "Success is lining up with the will of God and then reflecting a life that allows others to follow Christ's example through me." He was the current Minister of the Johnson Street Church of Christ in Benton, Ark. He was preceded in death by his father. He will forever be cherished and remembered by his mother, Jim Ella McClain-Carter; brothers, Ronald Wilson (Linda), Charlie McClain, Calvin McClain, Clarence Hood and Micheal McClain; sisters, Easter McClain, Carla McClain and Charis Dolphin (Alaric), two aunts, Pearlie Mae Smith and Alma Davis, one uncle, John Parker and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A wake will be held on Friday, March 1, 2013 at Kincaid Funeral Home located at 1164 W. Highway 49, West Helena, AR from 5 to 7 p.m. Services will follow on Saturday, March 2 at the Midtown Church of Christ located at 1930 Union Avenue, Memphis, Tenn. at 11 a.m. His body will lie in state from 10-11 a.m. at the church. www.kincaidfuneralservices.com, 1164 W.
