Marjorie Anne Madsen

Marjorie Anne Madsen, age 74, of Lonoke, Arkansas went home to be with her Lord and Savior she loved and trusted, on Wednesday, January 2, 2013. She was surrounded in love by her family and loved ones. She was born June 13, 1938 in Westborough, Mass., the daughter of Cecil Hughie Schofield and Gladys Amy (Horton) Schofield. Those Marj leaves behind to cherish her memory include her husband and soul-mate of 49 years, Jerry S. Maden of the home, two daughters, Diana Lee Allen of Little Rock, Linda Anne Abbott, and husband Larry of Lonoke, two sons, Robert Alan Stone of Memphis, Tenn. Michael David Stone and his wife Janet, of Hensley. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. Marj attended the Hopkinton, MA School System and was a member of the Woodville Baptist Church in Woodville, Mass. She resided in Jacksonville, Ark. when she met and later married her lifelong love, Jerry S. Madsen in 1964. They lived in Jacksonville where her husband served in the USAF. She later resided in Seattle, Wash., Park River, N.D., Minot, N.D., Sedalia and Butler, Mo. and Omaha, Neb., finally settling in Branson, Mo. in 1979 for 25 years. She was employed in the tourist industry and was a cast member of the outdoor drama "The Shepherd of the Hills" for five years. Marj and Jerry took a vacation to Hawaii in 1988 and it turned into a four year vacation on the island of Maui. They returned to Missouri in the summer of 1992, and lived there until they moved to Lonoke, Ark. in the summer of 2004 to be closer to their children. Marj loved to travel and go on cruises with her husband, Jerry. They visited all 50 states and several foreign countries. She enjoyed many varied interests, including bird watching, gardening, making jewelry for herself, family members and friends, and cooking for the big family get-togethers on the holidays. She will be remembered by those left behind as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. A generous, loving person willing to help others in any way that she could. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made in Marjorie's name to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, Memphis, Tenn., Arkansas Hospice, or a charity of your choice. Marjorie wishes to be cremated and her ashes scattered by her family at a later date.
