Don Radford Evans

Don Radford Evans, 73, of Russell, died Friday, Jan. 4, 2013, in Little Rock. He was born Dec. 27, 1939, in Judsonia a son of the late Kenneth King Evans and Thelma Jones Evans. Don was a Baptist and retired from the Sperry-Vickers Corporation after 35 years of service. He loved hunting as well as his motorcycle and his "critters," and could fix anything that needed fixing. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Sam Jeanette Evans; son, Mitch Evans; daughter, Annette Woodson; sister, Carlene Martelli; grandchildren, Kelly Evans, Justin Evans (Miranda), Amber Evans, Ashley Evans, Jenny Evans, Amanda Stanley and Brandy Mosier; six great-grandchildren and one on the way; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, James L. Williams (Barbara) and Kieth Williams (Kathy). He was preceded in death by his parents and mother and father-in-law, Otis and Irene Williams. Visitation will be Sunday from 4-6 p.m. Funeral services will be Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, at 10 a.m. at the Powell Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Carter Cemetery by Powell Funeral Home, Bald Knob-Judsonia. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Toys for Tots Foundation, toysfortots.org.
