Eloise Reese Kemp, age 85, of Higden, Ark., went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, Jan. 2, 2013. She was preceded in death by her sons Gary Kemp, Carroll Kemp and her infant daughter Carolyn Kemp; two sisters Helen Burks and Ruby Collier, two brothers Charles Reese and James Reese. She is survived by her daughter JoAnn Wanat (Bob) of Higden, Ark.; two brothers Rufus Reese (Marilyn) and Fred Reese (Sylvia) both from Ulysses, Kan., six grandchildren: Cheryl Cox, Chuck Lunsford, Shawna Gillim, Corey Kemp, Jaime Kemp, and Susan Kemp, 10 great-grandchildren, her church family at Sugarloaf Baptist, her best friend Dorothy Warren, her traveling buddies 'The Bucket List Girls" and a host of nieces, nephews, friends, and other family. Eloise will always be remembered for her sweet and gentle spirit, her spunk and zest for life. She loved her family, her church, Bill Clinton, Kenny Rogers, and Wheel of Fortune. She was very adventurous, loved to travel and sight-see, and had made it to 46 states. She was retired from the Arkansas School for the Deaf after 19 years of service and had also worked at Timex. A visitation will be held Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013, at Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth, from 2 p.m.–4 p.m. Funeral Service will be 11 a.m., Tuesday, at First Baptist Church Sugar Loaf, Higden, Ark., with a visitation beginning at 10 a.m., at the church. Burial will follow at 3:30 p.m., in Pine Crest Memorial Park, Alexander, under the direction of Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth, 5800 W. 12 Street, Little Rock, Ark. 72204. 501-661-9111.
