Allen Ray Scott

Allen Ray Scott, age 72, of Jacksonville passed away Friday, January 4, 2013 in Jacksonville. He was born July 9, 1940 in Lindale, Texas to the late J.P. and Georgie Scott. In 1958, he married Helen Melton in Lindale. Mr. Scott was employed 40 years with Pep's Transportation as a diesel mechanic. He was preceded in death by two sisters, and nine brothers. Mr. Scott was a member of Military Road Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Helen of Jacksonville; four sons, Danny Ray Scott of Lindale, Texas, Terry Lee Scott, Paul Wayne Scott, Eddie Dean Scott, all of Jacksonville; two daughters, Linda Joyce Glover of Jacksonville, Connie Lynn Swift of Benton; sister, Margie Ford of Lindale, Texas; nine grandchildren and none great grandchildren. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Thursday, January 10, 2013 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home with Tim Hicks officiating. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Park.
