Sally Jo Margetson

Sally Jo (Young) Margetson, 85, passed away in Dallas, Texas on January 7, 2013. She was born May 13, 1927 in Humphrey, Arkansas. Sally was a school librarian and antiques shop owner. She retired as Media Director for Union Public School District in Tulsa after having a stroke and returned to her home town of Humphrey, Arkansas. Sally joined her brother, the late John W. Young and sister, Frances Young in Young's Antiques. She thoroughly enjoyed her time in the Antiques business and made many friends. The highlight of her second career was continuing to "teach and educate" her customers about antiques and interior design. Sally completed cancer treatment in Dallas, Texas in March of 2010 and returned to Humphrey. She was cancer free for two years. She was cured of Lymphoma but colon cancer returned January 2012. Sally set a wonderful example for others. She believed that being positive and having an optimistic attitude was paramount. Sally was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin H. Margetson, and son George E. Margetson. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Diane and Perry Hood of Tulsa, daughter and son-in-law, Janie and David Flynt of Dallas, two granddaughters, Becky Collins and Kristen Margetson, sister, Frances E. Young, many nieces and nephews, and dear friends. Visitation is Friday, January 11 from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Turpin Funeral Home, Stuttgart, Arkansas. Services will be held Saturday, January 12, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. directed by Turpin. Burial will follow at Lone Tree Cemetery, Stuttgart, Arkansas.
