Marion Lee Yandell

Marion L. "Lee" Yandell, 83, of Austin, passed away Sunday, January 13, 2013 from complications of an autoimmune disease. He was born in Montgomery County, Arkansas. At the age of 17 he joined the Army Air Corps, was transferred to the United States Air Force and retired from military service to his country from the United States Navy. He was also retired from Dassault Falcon Jet on permanent disability. Lee enjoyed racing stock cars and go carts, flying, and hunting and fishing. He loved all people and never met a stranger. He was a member of the 16th Section United Methodist Church, where he loved singing. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Theresa (Terri) Pratt Yandell of Austin; three sons, Mike, Tommy (Sophelia) of Atlanta, Georgia and David (Stacy) of Austin; one daughter, Laura (Scott) Patterson of Ward; twelve grandchildren, one great grandchild; one sister, Margaret Lyons of Murfreesboro; one half-sister, Marilyn Pressley of DeQueen; and many other relatives and friends. The family sincerely thanks the DesArc Ambulance service and all the personnel at DesArc Nursing and Rehab Center. Also, many thanks to each doctor and nurse who cared for Lee in every hospital he was in during his most recent serious illness. A memorial service to celebrate Lee's life will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, January 17, 2013 at Moore's Cabot Funeral Home, with a visitation preceding the service from 1-2 p.m. The family suggests donations may be made to The Dorcas House, 823 S.
