Madelyn Elizabeth Lambi

Madelyn Elizabeth Lambi, born September 8th, 1979, died suddenly in her home Thursday, January 10th, 2013 in Astoria, New York. She is survived by her parents, Jon Lambi of Little Rock, Arkansas and Jane Pickens of Chapel Hill, North Carolina. She is also survived by her brother, Daniel Pickens Lambi of New York, New York, and Catherine Alexandria Lambi of Raleigh, North Carolina. She was the granddaughter of the late R.A. and Madelyn Pickens of Pickens, Arkansas and the late Anton and Lois Lambi of Green Field, Iowa. A memorial service was held Tuesday at Saint Bartholomew's Episcopal Church on Park Avenue, New York, New York by the Reverend F.M. "Buddy" Stallings and the Reverend Tom Ehrich. Eulogies were given by Jane Pickens, Nate Ehrich, Jonathan Brewer and Nicole Seiferth. Music was provided by Ernest McCoy. A memorial service will be held at the First United Methodist Church in Dumas, Arkansas on Saturday, January 19th at 2 p.m. The service will be conducted by the Reverend Buddy Ratliff and the Reverend Tandy Hanson. Madelyn's friends are creating a foundation in her honor to make great literature available to the children of New York City. Madelyn was a joy to know.
