Pamela Kay King Weathers

Pamela Kay King Weathers, age 60, of Judsonia, died Thursday, Jan. 17, in Searcy. She fought gall bladder cancer for six years, was a dedicated supporter of Stand up 2 Cancer, the American Cancer Society, and an advocate for cancer patients. She was finally was taken from this earth by an aneurysm. Mrs. Boss Lady, as she was affectionately known, was a well respected businesswoman in the trucking industry for over 40 years with many large projects in and out of Arkansas to her credit; she was a maverick by working in a business that was dominated by men; a devoted wife, mother, sister and grandmother; a counselor/mentor to friends, family, co-workers, employees, old and young alike, with honest advice for all. She had a great love for anything outdoors, including pets, gardening and wildflowers; and loved to cook. She was born September 8, 1952 in Newport, Arkansas to Billy Dean King and Marlene Hays King. She is survived by her husband of 42 years, Chester "Sonny" Weathers; two sons, Chris Weathers of Judsonia, Josh Weathers and wife Natasha of Judsonia; one daughter, LaDawn Warden of Judsonia; 12 grandchildren, Ashley King, Mitchell Warden, Trey Warden, Bailey Weathers, Emily Weathers, Hunter Weathers, Koby Weathers, Kaden Weathers, Zach Weathers, Gage Weathers, Makayla Gillham, Tuesday Weathers; six great-grandchildren; parents Billy Dean King, Marlene Hays; one sister, Dr. Jada Vaughan and husband Gary Beck; one step-sister, LeAnn Hilbert; one step-brother, Doug King; one great-aunt, Bonnie Shaw; and one nephew, Brooks Vaughan and wife Jacquelyn. She is preceded in death by her grandma, Loraine "Mutt" King, grandpa Kenny King, and one grandson, Gregory Scott Weathers. Visitation was Saturday from 6 until 8 p.m. at Powell Funeral Home of Bald Knob. Funeral services are Sunday at 2 p.m. at Holly Springs Missionary Baptist Church.
