Billie Jack Benning of Prattsville, Arkansas was born July 23, 1928 in Malvern, Arkansas the son of the late O.S. and Ruby Mae Young Benning. He was a member of Harmony Missionary Baptist Church in Prattsville , was owner of Benning Construction and served in the United States Navy having fought in the Korean War. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, raising cattle, playing practical jokes and spending time with his friends. Billie Jack died Tuesday, January 22, 2013 at Sheridan Healthcare and Rehab at the age of 84. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Edna Mae Benning, and his sister, Catherine Taylor. Survivors: son, Rick Earnhart and wife Gail of Sheridan; daughters, Sandra Harper and husband Jimmy of Prattsville; Jackie Smith and husband Gary of Prattsville; brother, Bob Benning and wife Maggie of Prattsville; sister-in-law, Lois Easterly of Sheridan; grandchildren, Danny and Jen Harper, Jeremy Harper, Chad and Katie Harper, Starr Earnhart, John and Megan Earnhart, Jason and Michelle Smith, Melissa and Scotty Lamb, and Chris Earnhart; Great grandchildren, Nicole, Noelle, Payne, Logan, Hunter, Cole, Christopher, Brianna, Bruce, Roanee Kate and Chloe and a host of friends. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday, January 25, 2013 at Memorial Gardens Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Neal Pumphrey and Bill Clark officiating. Burial will follow at Philadelphia Cemetery in Prattsville. Visitation will be prior to the service from 9 until service time. Pallbearers are Jason Smith, John Earnhart, Danny Harper, Jeremy Harper, Chad Harper and Butch Paxton. Honorary pallbearers are Mike Stephens, Henry Wells, Larry Benning and Charlie Williams.
