Dave Davis

Dave Davis was born on April 5, 1915 to Pearl and Frank Davis in Wilmont, Arkansas. His parents and sister, Mary, died when he was very young and he was raised by his uncle and aunt, Lem and Amanda Coleman Williams. He made the transition on January 24, 2013. He was married to Ethel Mae Crudup for 60 years and to this union 13 children were born. Later the family moved to Little Rock, Ark. After moving to Little Rock, he was drafted in the Army and fought in World War II. When he returned from the war, he attended Philander Smith College. He was employed by the Missouri Pacific Railroad, Westinghouse, and Pulaski County School District. He was a faithful member of St. Bartholomew until his health began to fail. He was a life-long member and 4th Degree Knight of Peter Claver. He also held the office of the Deputy Grand Knight of Peter Claver. He was also a member of the 20th Century Knights. He was predeceased in death by his: wife of 60 years, Ethel Mae Crudup Davis; children, Dave, Jr., Parilee, Alice, Josephine, and Sarah. He leaves to mourn his loss: daughters: Pearl Dixon, Maggie (Kinsey) Boyland, San Bernardino, Calif., Verna, and Karen (Anthony) Chatman, San Bernardino, Calif.; sons: Haile (Dorothy) Davis, James (Cynthia) Davis, Houston, Texas, Kenneth Willis and Ronald Willis, Gary, Ind.; oldest grandson and caretaker Ronald (Jeanette) Watkins; 40 grandchildren, and a host of great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, other relatives and friends. Family Hour is from 6-7:30 p.m. at New Deliverance Temple COGIC, 4706 Atkins Street, North Little Rock. Funeral: 10 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Good Counsel, 1321 Van Buren, Little Rock. Interment: Little Rock National Cemetery by Watson-Northcrest Funeral Home, 812-5303.
