Helen Jean Richmond

Helen Jean Richmond, 88, of Hazen, passed away January 29, 2013, at Stuttgart Regional Hospital. She was born December 26, 1924 in Humphrey, Oklahoma to William and Mabel Pollard. Jean was the eldest of seven daughters, Rosemary and Gloria. Later she married Granville Richmond and they had one daughter, Lyndi. She was a grandmother to six grandchildren, great-grandmother to five, and a great-great grandmother to two. She will be fondly remembered by her grandchildren as their MeMe. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Mabel Pollard; her husbands, Andrew Cooper and Granville Richmond; three brothers, Robert Pollard, frankie Pollard, and Wayne Pollard, and one sister, Joan Cox. She is survived by three duahters, Rosemary Petersen (Gerald) of Beebe, Gloria Mills of Hot Springs, and Lyndi Kerr (Parker) of Hazen; six grandchildreen; five great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren. Jennifer Crafton of Beebe, james Mills of Hot Springs, Gale Lamb (David) of Taylor, Russell Johnson (Tonya) of Beebe, Harold G. Marable, III (Trey) serving in Afghanistan and wife Grace of Sherwood and Michelle Kerr (Hazen); five great-grandchildren, Meagan Rigdon (Little Rock), David Mills (Hot Springs), Brandon Johnson (Beebe), Amber (Beebe) and great-great-grandchildren Landon and Easton Johnson (Beebe). Also surviving are her sisters, Jeanette Pollard of New Mexico and Sylvia Hawhee of Iowa. Jean owned and operated her own beauty shop, as well as enjoying sewing, crafts, sketch art, and gardening. She was known to be up before the first bird chirped sewing for someone. She was a member of the Church of Christ and Order of the Eastern Star. Visitation will be 6 to 8 Pp.m. Thursday, January 31, 2013, Westbrook Funeral Home in Hazen. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, February 1, 2013 at the Westbrook Funeral Home Chapel in Hazen.
