Troy Mitchell

Troy Mitchell, age 89, of DeWitt died January 30, 2013. He was born January 26, 1924 in DeWitt to Billy and Olie Young Mitchell who preceded him in death. Also preceding him were his wife, Ginny Mitchell, his son, Grady Mitchell, three brothers and two sisters. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Arkansas Cattlemen's Association, National Seed Growers, formerly operated Lakeside Flying Service, was a flight instructor and was a rancher. Survivors include his son Joe Mitchell of DeWitt, grandsons: Kelly Mitchell (Karri) of DeWitt, Blake Mitchell (Susan) of Odessa, Texas, great-grandsons, Luke and Jake Mitchell. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Friday, February 1st at Essex Funeral Home Chapel with burial at Cedarcrest Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 6 to 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. The family requests memorials be made to St. Jude Chiildren's Hospital or University of Arkansas for Medical Science Hospital.
