BETTY NAN KOBER RILEY, 84, lifelong Little Rock resident, went to her Heavenly Father peacefully at home on May 29, 2013. She was born May 15, 1929, the adored only child of John R. Kober and Bess Hogue Kober. Betty Nan attended Pulaski Heights Elementary and Junior High, and was a 1947 graduate of Little Rock Central High School. After graduation she worked as a secretary at the US Corps of Engineers and Southwestern Bell Telephone Co. where she met and married the love of her life Neil Hamilton Riley. Betty Nan's life revolved around her husband, three children, family, friends and her love of the Lord. She and Neil raised their children in Little Rock where she was a devoted and active volunteer in her children's schools, PTA, Girl Scouts, youth activities and organizations. She was a longtime member of Pleasant Valley Church of Christ where she taught Bible classes and ministered with encouraging spirit and service. She was a mentor and friend to many staff and students as the secretary of the LR Central High School guidance office where she worked from 1971 to 1992. Betty Nan was preceded in death by her parents and a grandson, Andrew Morgan Dowdy. She leaves to cherish her memory her devoted husband of 61 years, Neil H. Riley Sr.; her three children, Rebecca Nan Riley Mulvaney and her husband Randy of Houston, Texas, Priscilla Riley Dowdy and her husband Joe of Cocoa Beach, Fla. and Neil Hamilton Riley Jr.; grandchildren, George Connor Mulvaney, Pierce Hamilton Mulvaney, Logan Douglas Mulvaney, John Riley Dowdy and wife Layla, Elizabeth Kellett Dowdy, Jefferson Morgan Dowdy and wife Marla, Sidney Jones Riley; great- grandchild Anna Riley Dowdy; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends. Visitation and funeral services will be held Friday, June 7 at Pleasant Valley Church of Christ, 10900 Rodney Parham Road, Little Rock, Ark. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. with funeral service at 2 p.m. Burial will follow at Forest Hills Cemetery. Arrangements by Roller-Chenal Funeral Home 13801 Chenal Parkway Little Rock, Ark.
