Alvin Eugene Branch, 88, of Pine Bluff died Saturday, June 1, 2013 at Jefferson Regional Medical Center. He was born October 13, 1924 in Pine Bluff to Charlie Francis and Bertie Taylor Branch. A lifetime resident of Pine Bluff, he attended Watson Chapel Schools before entering the military in 1943. After his military service, he worked for the Cotton Belt Railroad, and the Pine Bluff Fire Department, before starting his own business, Poplar Radio and T.V. Service, which he operated until his retirement. He was a member of Salem Missionary Baptist Church and the Cotton Belt Railroad Society. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Marie Kelley Branch, two brothers, James Donald Branch, Edward Branch, and three great-grandchildren, Bailey, Tanner and Garrett Lain. Survivors are his children, Phillip Branch, Linda (Jerry) Schultz, all of Pine Bluff, a brother, Chester Branch of White Hall,two sisters, Mildred Lawson of Pine Bluff, Catherine Louise Lawson of Glendale, four grandchildren; Carol (Ronnie) Ivy, Stephanie (Donald) Lain, Brandi (Chris) Hollis, all of Pine Bluff, Kevin Davis of Austin, Texas; three great-grandchildren; Thomas Culpepper, Emily Culpepper and Hollie Hooper-Hollis, all of Pine Bluff. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, at Salem Missionary Baptist Church, with Reverend Howard Loetscher officiating. Burial will be in Branch Cemetery by Ralph Robinson and Son. The family will receive friends at the Fellowship Hall at Salem Missionary Baptist Church, Tuesday evening, 6 to 9 p.m.. All other times they will be at the family home.
