Vivian F. Dutton; Our Mother has gone to meet the Lord and is Home again. This great lady was a tower of strength, well-respected and much loved. Rising from the throes of the Great Depression, she attended Carson Newman College receiving a B.A. Degree in 1943. While working in the Watson Chapel School System in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, she added a Masters Degree in Education in 1963 and her PhD in 1968. She taught for one year at Arkansas A&M College (now University of Arkansas at Monticello) in 1968 before moving to Tucson, Arizona where she taught at the University of Arizona as Associate Professor Emeritus from 1969 to her retirement in 1985. She is preceded in death by her husband, Reverend Vernon R. Dutton, and her parents, Joseph Wiley and Hattie Gray Lee. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Vernon Lee and Nancy Dutton. Graveside services will be 12 noon Friday, at East Lawn Palms Memorial Park, Tuscon, Arizona. Local arrangements are by Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth.
