Ernest Stephen Binz

Ernest Stephen Binz, age 62, of Hot Springs, died peacefully on June 7, 2013, after a courageous battle with cancer. He was born in Little Rock, Ark. on Jan. 8, 1951 and was preceded in death by his parents Joseph Edward Binz and Eva Mae Shankel Binz. He is survived by his sister, Sylvia Hart and her husband George of Little Rock; his brothers, Joe Binz of Jacksonville, Jim Binz and his wife Kelly of Little Rock, Rick Binz and his wife Connie of Benton, along with numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Ernie lived at First Step Men's Group Home in Hot Springs until his illness and then at Lakewood Convalescent Home. Ernie was a valued employee at Abilities Unlimited of Hot Springs for 27 years. He was a very sweet special man and was loved by all his co-workers and care givers. Ernie enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 12, at Christ The King Catholic Church. Interment will follow at 2 p.m. at Calvary Cemetery. The family would like to thank the entire staff of First Step of Arkansas, Lakewood Convalescent Home and Arkansas Hospice for their loving and kind care of Ernie during his illness.
