A.B. Junior "Buddy" Rogers

A.B. Junior "Buddy" Rogers of Stuttgart age 88, died Sunday June 9, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family. Junior was born on November 21, 1924 in Blytheville, Ark. to Arthur Bryan Sr. and Katie Jo Diemer Rogers. He was a member of First United Methodist Church, Kerksieck Hunting Club and Stuttgart Chapter Barber Shop. Junior was known during the week as the "Welder", especially aluminum welding (fishing boats) or building up combine teeth for the farmers in the Stuttgart, Ulm, Almyra, Humphrey and Slovak areas. On Saturday nights he was known as the "Dancer". His theme song for the dance band to play was "In the Mood". In the later years when most of the bands had quit playing at St. Charles, Ulm and the "Hanger", you could find him at the I-30 Speedway Race Track watching his nephew, David Baser win "Track and State Championships". Junior loved his family and enjoyed frying crappie and bream for their enjoyment. He will be greatly missed by everyone he came in contact with and especially his family. Preceding him in death were his parents and a sister LaVon Arredondo. Survivors are one brother Harold "Buck" Rogers of Lakewood, CO., two sisters Juanita Dail of Carolina Beach, N.C. and Julia "Judy" Baser of Stuttgart. The family would like to thank Dr. David Bush, Dr. Eddie Hord, Dr. Brad Baltz and nursing staff, Southern Paramedic Services, Baptist Home Health and Hospice Home Care. The family will receive friends at the "Old Homestead" at 909 East 2nd Street, Stuttgart. Funeral service will be 10 a.m. Thursday at First United Methodist Church with Dr. David Bush officiating, burial will follow at Lone Tree Cemetery. Visitation will be from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday at Turpin Funeral Home. The family suggests that memorials be sent to First United Methodist Church, American Cancer Society or the Arkansas Sheriff's Youth Ranch.
