James E. Armstrong

James E. Armstrong, age 86, of Arkadelphia died Tuesday, June 11, 2013 in Hot Springs. He was born September 3, 1926 in Clark County Arkansas the son of Frank and Carrie Eaves Armstrong. James was a cattleman, carpenter, painter and a logger. He was a member of Mt. Bethel Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Muriel Tarpley Armstrong and one brother, Thomas Armstrong. Survivors are one son, Mike Armstrong and wife, Sharis of Arkadelphia; one daughter, Sandra Jones of Phoenix, Arizona; two sisters, Betty Helms Freeman of Arkadelphia, Shirley Jordan of Harrison, AR.; three grandchildren, Kyle Armstrong and wife, Meridith of Arkadelphia, Alana Eifert and husband, Spencer of Malvern, Melinda Alicea and husband, David of Arizona; three great-grandchildren, Darrel Matheisen, David Matheisen and Christopher Alicea; and one great-great grandchild, Aaron James Matheisen. Graveside services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 15th at Rest Haven Memorial Gardens with Bro. Richard Brown officiating. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday at Ruggles-Wilcox Funeral Home.
